“People are extremely important to us.”

OUR PHILOSOPHY IS AURAL REHABILITATION

Our responsibility is to make sure that you learn how to use and care for your hearing aids properly.

First visit (successful adaptation): Sometimes simple things like placing the hearing aids correctly, raising and lowering the volume, changing the batteries, or cleaning the device cause the aural rehabilitation to fail or discourage developing communication skills, giving way to a high-tech device being tossed in a drawer. This is why we prefer to see our patients during the first couple of weeks after their hearing aid has been delivered – to achieve a successful adaptation.

The main goal of hearing aids is for you to hear and understand what people around you are saying, in a natural and comfortable manner.

Sound quality: The hearing aid technology should allow you to enjoy the details and richness of sound, even in acoustic environments with background noise. Oticon hearing aids reduce the volume of noisy surroundings, without sacrificing the clarity of the words of people speaking around you.

Our philosophy of aural rehabilitation adapts to the brain processes of learning.

Comfort adjustments: Overall, there is a learning period of approximately three months to get the hang of the using hearing aids daily. During this adaptation phase, the brain areas involved in sound processing are re-enabled once again to perform their function. Although this adaptation phase is unique to each individual, the technology of our hearing aids allows for gradual increments of intensity; thus making it easier for you to get used to the device little by little as well as preventing from annoying noises.

People are extremely important to us. We want to make sure that hearing aids offer a maximum benefit and are easy to use and maintain.
